Here is an easy won-ton recipe (steamed - the won-tons, not the recipe).
I am pretty sure this is how mom made them (correct me if I am wrong mom).
Ingredients: (somewhat)
2 packages of square won-ton wrappers - set aside
Do not use egg-roll or ravioli. You can find them in the refrigerated produce sections of most grocery stores.
1 tbsp of corn starch mixed with 2 tbsp of water in shallow bowl or dish - set aside
1 lb raw ground pork
1/4 cup soy sauce
about a half bulb of garlic - minced (about 3 tablespoons) I love the garlic.
about 31/4 cup fine chopped onion chives or green onion (green onion is better - use the white and the green parts)
You will need a Bamboo steamer or other steamer unit (bamboo gives it a better taste.)
Like the one here. Bamboo is the best!
Mix the pork, soy, onion, and garlic in medium bowl. Set aside while you prepare the wrappers.
Place 1 tsp of mix in center of wrapper and wrap according to package instructions. (don't forget to seal edges with cornstarch mix.
place in single layers in greased steamer and steam about 15 minutes or until cooked all the way (internal temp 165 degrees F.)
Let cool a little so you don't get a burned roof of mouth like I did. You can serve with steamed rice. But, I love to just eat them out of the steamer!
